Stoner Joins EPA as Deputy Assistant Administrator for Water

Nancy Stoner joined the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as the Deputy Assistant Administrator for the Office of Water on Feb. 1.

This will be Stoner’s second tenure with EPA, as she directed the Office of Planning and Policy Analysis in the Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance from 1997 to 1999. More recently, she was the co-director for the Natural Resources Defense Council’s Water Program. Prior to that, she served as project director and attorney for the Clean Water Project for nearly 10 years.

I agree with Berthold Klein that the last thing we need at EPA is another lawyer developing "science based" regulations. I work with these government regulators and the amount of incompetence, both federal and state, is amazing. Don't even get me started with Army Corps of Engineers.

Yes, we do need an exeperienced attorney at the EPA, one who an help unravel the mess created by the previous administration.

It looks as if Nancy Stoner brings a wealth of experience in develpping and implementing science-based regulation.

As a resident of Southern West Virginia, I can testify to the wreck and ruin caused by greed mining companies, choosing profit over people. Here in Lincoln County, the Hobet mine is poisoning our streams and rivers with selenium. It's causing birth defects and sickness in my neighbors and we're plumb fed up with it.

Our state government rolls over like a litte puppy when the coal barons sa 'boo' and there's zero accountability.

Ms. Stoner, thank you for your help in bring clean water and air back to the Mountain State (what's left of it... )

After reviewing Nancy Stoner background we don't need another attorney in the EPA .We need more honest scientists and engineers that will tell the truth like Alan Carlin. With the release of the East Anglia E-mails we know that man-made global warming is a hoax and that CO2 does not cause global warming and is not a dangerous gas- the greenhouse gas effect does not exist.
