2008 Emergency Response Guidebook Available

The 2008 Emergency Response Guidebook, the emergency preparedness guide published by the United States that helps transporters, police, fire personnel, and other emergency responders quickly identify the hazards of materials involved in an incident, is now available for purchase.

The 2008 guidebook replaces the 2004 edition with the latest emergency response guidelines. The Department of Transportation's Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) has issued a formal summary of changes from the 2004 edition. The guidebook is available in various formats, including softbound in English and Spanish; spiral bound in English only; and CD-ROM in English, Spanish, and French.
