ITT Completes EPA Validation for UV System

June 27, 2008

ITT Corp., a provider of systems for treating and transporting water and wastewater, announced June 11 that it has completed a new validation for ITT’s WEDECO K Series Ultraviolet (UV) Reactor according to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency standards.

The reactor offers significant cost savings for large-scale drinking water UV projects. These systems use low pressure, high-output UV lamps, so the operating costs are typically less than half of the leading medium pressure lamp systems available.

The reactor underwent all possible design scenarios during the validation, with flow rates up to 40 million gallons per day. In addition to the upcoming drinking water projects, more than 100 installed K Series vessels in North America can now be certified according to the latest EPA guidelines.
