The California Supreme Court just OKed Manhattan Beach's ban on plastic bags. Though I wouldn't want such a bag, I'm glad Manhattan Beach was able to carry out the will of its residents. This is the beauty of our system of government: You get laws acceptable to your local culture, and we get ones acceptable to ours.
